I grew up in a small farm town in south Georgia, where my outdoor adventures consisted of riding ATV's through mud holes, walking show cattle with a tractor, and competing in barrel racing competitions with my Quarter Horses. I eventually moved to Athens, Georgia for college and graduated from the University of Georgia, where I finished two college degrees and still have no idea what I want to do with my life. I attempted a thru-hike in 2015 until an injury forced me off-trail at mile 700. In 2016 (quite unplanned), I embarked on another thru-hike attempt, this time a flip-flop. Once again, injury (these darned feet) forced me off trail after 3 months. I am and always will remain an active member of the Appalachian Trail community, and WILL finish the trail, sooner rather than later.

See Those Mountains in the Distance?

The choices we make lead up to actual experiences. It is one thing to decide to climb a mountain. It is quite another to be on top of it. -Herbert
